The 2021/2022 Inprint Cool Brains! Reading Series currently takes place virtually and features Jerry Craft, with details about other writers in the season coming soon.

In 2004, Inprint launched a family reading series now called the Inprint Cool Brains! Reading Series. Free and open to the public, the series presents online events with winners of the Newbery Medal, the National Book Award, and more. Each of the writers gives a lively presentation about their work and then answers video questions submitted by kids. Inprint conducts three to four readings per year, and audiences have ranged from 100 – 1,000 attendees.

The series has featured leading middle-grade authors including Kwame Alexander, Katherine Applegate, Pseudonymous Bosch, Christopher Paul Curtis, Chris Grabenstein, Lois Lowry, Meg Medina, R. J. Palacio, Katherine Paterson, Gary Paulsen, Jon Scieszka, Jacqueline Woodson, and many others.
