You love creative writing. It’s a practice that heals you, that stabilizes you in an unstable world. Maybe you write poems because it’s therapeutic. Maybe you write in a journal because it gives you ownership over your own life. Maybe you rush home every night and write a few more paragraphs in the novel you’re working on because the rest of your day feels so uninspired. Whatever the reason, we write because we enjoy it and because it shows we have the grit we expect of our students. Through a series of multi-genre, generative workshops, we will sharpen our skills as creative writers and discover resources we can take back to our classrooms. With a focus on fiction, poetry, and non-fiction, this course is open to any and all, no matter where you are on your journey as both a teacher and a writer.
