Inprint is proud to serve as a host for the First Friday Poetry Reading Series. The First Friday Series is the oldest poetry series in Houston and has been held monthly on the first Friday of each month since 1975. The series is coordinated and curated by Robert Clark. Each reading begins with a featured poet, followed by an open mic. On November 15, 2019, First Friday presents Anis Shivani.

Reading from his new book, Logography: A Poetry Omnibus, and The Moon Blooms in Occupied Hours. The author of novels, short story collections, and books of literary criticism, recipient of a Pushcart Prize, his work has appeared in such publications as Threepenny Review, Boston Review, Antioch Review, Subtropics, Fence, Denver Quarterly, AGNI, Western Humanities Review, Quarterly West, Colorado Review, Georgia Review, Southwest Review, Yale Review, and Harvard Review. Forthcoming in January 2020 is his new novel, A History of the Cat in Nine Chapters or Less: A Novel.
