Inprint is proud to serve as the host for the First Fridays Reading Series. The First Fridays Reading Series is the oldest poetry series in Houston and was organized by Robert Clark from 1975-2019. Today, First Fridays are curated and hosted by local community members.

The May 3rd featured reader for First Fridays Reading Series is none other Angélique Jamail, who has been integral to reviving this series and keeping it going. Angélique is a Lebanese-American author whose work has appeared in numerous publications, including Synkroniciti, Equinox, Waxwing, Femmeliterate, Literary Mama, and others. Her books include Finis., Homecoming, and The Sharp Edges of Water. Her work has been nominated for Best Small Fictions, has been a finalist for the New Letters Prize in Poetry, and has won various essay contests. She serves on the Board of Directors for Mutabilis Press and is the Director of Creative Writing at The Kinkaid School. She’s also the creator of the popular zine Sonic Chihuahua.

Readings are held on the first Friday of each month. The program will include a featured reader, followed by an open mic.
