The 2017 Inprint Poets & Writers Ball, Inprint’s annual fundraising gala, brings together like-minded Houstonians to celebrate and support the written word. This year’s Ball is chaired by Claire & Robert Campbell and Kelly & Michael Sklar. The guest speaker will be New York Times bestselling author Curtis Sittenfeld, whose latest novel Eligible is a lively contemporary take on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Three Houston writers, all of whom have received support from Inprint and are alumni of the renowned UH Creative Writing Program, will read from their new books before dinner—Hayan Charara, J. Bradford Hipps, and Janine Joseph. The menu for the evening is designed by Chef Robert Del Grande of Cafe Annie.

Approximately 400 people are expected at the Ball, and tables for ten range in price from $5,000 to $30,000; individual seats from $500 to $3,000. Proceeds from the annual Ball make possible all of Inprint’s programs, including readings by world renowned authors, writers workshops for individuals of all backgrounds, support for the city’s top emerging writers, and much more.
