In Winter 2021, Inprint conducted two creative writing workshops for Harris Health employees, BCM, and UT medical staff on “Race, Resistance, and Resilience” led by writers, UH Creative Writing Program PhD candidates, and Inprint fellowship recipients Niki Herd and Cait Weiss Orcutt. Through a series of in-class writing activities, these workshops provided a safe space for reflective writing and sharing about the extraordinary times we are living through.

On March 26, 2021, participants from the workshops shared pieces written during the 8 week period, adding diverse voices and experiences to our understanding of these complex issues. The reading included opening remarks by Inprint staff, workshop instructors Niki Herd and Cait Weiss Orcutt, and director of the Baylor Narrative Medicine Program Ricardo Nuila, followed by brief readings from the workshop participants.
