Former U.S. Poet Laureate and the first Mexican American to hold the post, Juan Felipe Herrera  appeared as part of the 2017/2018 Cool Brains! Inprint Readings for Young People series for a special Inprint Cool Brains! Spring Break Fest on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Meyerland Performing and Visual Arts Middle School. Herrera read from and talked about his new book Jabberwalking. Preceding Herrera on-stage, Houston Youth Poet Laureate Rukmini Kalamangalam read two poems, and Jasminne and Lupe Mendez of Tintero Projects read aloud the collective poem written as part of an interactive word play activity earlier in the afternoon. Inprint Associate Director Marilyn Jones introduced the event. To enjoy other Inprint Archived Readings click here.
