DESCRIPTION:This is an in-person workshop that takes place at Inprint House. \n  \nEscribir con la imagen: atlas sensibles \nEste taller se enfoca en escribir con imágenes y a partir de ellas. Más allá de ser solo ilustraciones\, proponemos pensar lo visual como una forma narrativa que anima la escritura y pone en movimiento nuestros pensamientos y palabras. ¿Qué ideas o recuerdos convoca una obra de arte\, una película o una fotografía de nuestro celular? ¿Qué historias nos cuentan o qué historias queremos contar con ellas? \nEn el taller trabajaremos con textos de escritores como Georges Didi-Huberman\, María Fusco\, Aisha Sabatini\, Cristina Rivera Garza\, Marina Azahua\, Victoria Chong y Verónica Gerber\, así como con la idea de “el atlas”\, desarrollada por el historiador de arte y escritor alemán Aby Warburg. Las personas participantes comenzarán creando su propio atlas con materiales visuales que les motiven —obras de arte\, archivos personales\, películas y fotografías— para activar la sensación\, la emoción\, la memoria y el pensamiento. Estas imágenes indisciplinaran la escritura\, nuestra visión y las fronteras entre géneros literarios\, hasta llegar a una pieza de escritura original. \nWriting With the Image \nThis workshop focuses on writing with images and from them. Beyond being mere illustrations\, we propose thinking of the visual as a narrative form that animates our writing—that sets our thoughts and words in motion. What ideas or memories does a work of art\, a film\, or a photograph from our cell phone evoke? What stories do they tell us\, or what stories do we want to tell with them? \nIn this workshop\, we will engage the work of writers such as Georges Didi-Huberman\, María Fusco\, Aisha Sabatini\, Cristina Rivera Garza\, Marina Azahua\, Victoria Chong\, and Verónica Gerber\, as well as the idea of “the atlas” as developed by the German art historian and writer Aby Warburg\, who used images from different sources to establish relationships of meaning based on his own sensibilities. Workshop participants will begin by creating their own atlas using images that inspire them—works of art\, personal archives\, films\, and photographs—to stimulate sensation\, emotion\, memory\, and thought. These images will disrupt and expand our writing\, our ways of seeing\, and the boundaries between literary genres\, culminating in a truly original piece of writing. \n
