Participants will be provided information on how to join the online sessions. \n \nFor so many of us\, the past year has been a lapse in both community and language. This class offers an answer for how we might return to both. Together\, we’ll write poems\, workshop poems\, offer feedback\, and push ourselves into new and generative spaces with in-class writing prompts.  \nWe’ll initially focus on grounding poetry within Gregory Orr’s four “temperaments” of story\, structure\, music\, and imagination. Every subsequent week\, I’ll ask you to read either a craft essay or a few poems for our discussion on technique. The readings will range from established writers such as Carl Phillips\, francine j. harris\, Ocean Vuong\, and Ada Limón to emerging writers like K. Iver. Whether you’ve been writing for a while\, or you’re someone just starting out on your poetic practice–this workshop will seek to spark your work beyond the bounds of the six weeks we have together.  \n URL:https://inprinthouston.org/event/poetry-of-ignition-online-2021-405/ CATEGORIES:Writers Workshops END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
