In partnership with Houston’s three medical schools and Rice University, Inprint is thrilled to host this storytelling event featuring writing that seeks to find the heart in every medical story.
Seven selected writers from the Houston community will share their stories. Hear about a complex (and comical) relationship with a C-PAP machine, the health of a Black family in Houston’s Fifth Ward in the mid-1900s, a heart catheterization gone terribly awry, caring for a spouse as he dies at home, and a medical student’s emotional turmoil while learning about trauma surgery. Readers will include:
Stefan Breitling
Andrea Cope
Fritzy Dean
Florence Russo-Carter
Thomas Spackman
Julie Schlegel
Margo Toombs
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
