Celebrate the Mexican “Day of the Dead” with the eighth annual Musical and Literary Ofrenda at Lawndale Art Center, a five-way collaboration between ROCO, Lawndale, Musiqa, Inprint, and the Houston Hispanic Forum.

This year’s program features the premiere of five new miniatures by composer Marcus Maroney, performed by Houston-based baritone, Timothy Jones, and a trio of ROCO musicians on oboe, viola, and cello.

The five original musical “ofrendas” (offerings) are interwoven with four original poetry and prose texts by Inprint Fellows Rachel Ballenger, Julia Brown, Justin Jannise, and Annie Shepherd, surrounded by the creative contemporary retablos on display at Lawndale.

Come early to tour the gallery, then stay after the concert to practice conversational Spanish through Español y arte, offered by Houston Hispanic Forum.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information click here.
