DESCRIPTION:Please note that this is an online workshop conducted via Zoom. Participants will be provided information on how to join the online sessions. \n \nWhether you’re exploring writing for the first time or looking to improve your skills\, it can be hard to know how to get started. Without the proper tools\, overcoming writer’s block or putting together a piece of writing you’re truly proud of can feel like a monumental task. But don’t worry—we’ve all been there. That’s why this workshop is designed to equip you with new strategies and techniques that will jump-start your craft\, no matter whether you’re writing fiction\, nonfiction\, or poetry. \nThrough a series of multi-genre\, generative workshops\, writers in this class will learn how to develop their imagery\, explore voice and narration\, and harness the power of metaphor. In-class and out-of-class activities and readings will encourage students to find new ideas and inspiration in the world around us\, and then get those ideas onto the page. Each student will also have the chance to get feedback on some of their work\, whether they’ve written it in the class or on their own. \nNo matter where you are on your writer’s journey\, this course is designed to help you spark new ideas\, get in touch with your voice\, and learn techniques that you can apply to any writing project. \n
