Memoir/Online 2024-406

Course #Memoir/Online 2024-406
Tuesdays Starting March 25 6:30 pm–8:30 pm running 8 weeks
Cost: $320 Instructor: Nishta Mehra

This is an online workshop that takes place via Zoom

Writing Toward Discovery: The Memoir

Writing can be a powerful tool of self-discovery, a way to clarify what we know, believe, and care about most deeply. In this course, we will engage with memoir as a genre in the pursuit of understanding ourselves better and mining our past experiences for patterns and meaning. Whether we intend our work for a broader audience or ourselves, the act of approaching our own story with curiosity offers us agency and the opportunity for gratitude and growth.

The online 2-hour class time will be reserved for craft discussion and short writing exercises, with the majority of writing to take place outside of class. Individual feedback from the instructor will be tailored to meet each student’s needs.
