DESCRIPTION:“There are years that ask questions and years that answer” (Zora Neale Hurston). Many of us flock to memoir writing as an exercise in meaning-making\, an endeavor to fuse the pieces of our lives into a coherent and somehow satisfying whole. Yet some of our most valuable breakthroughs as writers and as humans happen when we are willing to set aside the need for answers and embrace the wholehearted\, messy practice of asking meaning-full questions. This 10-week workshop will offer participants an opportunity to explore how a spirit of inquiry can deepen a writing practice and infuse a memoir with generosity and purpose. Expect weekly readings and discussions\, in-class writing experiences\, and ample time dedicated to peer feedback and encouragement on written work.\n \n
