The Inprint Poetry Buskers will be writing free poems on demand on requested themes at the Menil Collection’s Neighborhood Community Day on Saturday, April 1, 12:30 – 3:30 pm. Later that afternoon, from 4 – 5 pm, the 2023 Inprint Prize Winners will give brief readings from their award-winning works.

Enjoy an afternoon of free art, music, poetry, and family activities in celebration of the museum’s vibrant neighborhood. Participating organizations include: DACAMERA, Houston Center for Photography, Inprint, The Menil Collection, Rothko Chapel, Writers in the Schools (WITS), and Watercolor Art Society.

Eureka Heights will be onsite with complimentary samples of Somethin’ Light and Hopps Hopps Hopps, a west coast lager brewed exclusively for the Menil’s exhibition, The Curational Imagination of Walter Hopps. Try them both while supplies last.

Food trucks will also be on-site: Boombox Taco (street tacos) and Pollywog’s Cajun Persuasion (Cajun cuisine).

Free and open to the public. For the full schedule of the Menil’s Neighborhood Community Day events, click here.
