Celebrating the joy of poetry and marking National Poetry Month, the Inprint Poetry Buskers—talented local writers, many of whom are graduate students of creative writing at the University of Houston—will be writing free poems on the spot for attendees of the BIPOC Book Festival on requested themes using typewriters. Come by the Inprint table—which will be active from 12 pm – 3 pm—see the Inprint Poetry Buskers in action, and walk away with your very own poem in Spanish or English.

The annual BIPOC Book Fest is a two-day festival centered on writers of color and a showcase of literary works that feature Black, Indigenous, People of Color and members of other marginalized communities. Curated by notable writers and readers of color, the festival combines the nostalgia of book fairs we knew and loved as students with unique programming, artist talks, readings vendors, book-related memorabilia, must-reads from all genres, and more!
