DESCRIPTION:The Inprint Book Club will discuss selected poems (listed below) by Sharon Olds and Tony Hoagland\, who were scheduled to appear as part of the 2015/2016 Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series. The meetings are free and open to the public. \nThe following poems from Sharon Olds’ collection Stag’s Leap will be discussed: Crazy\, Discandied\, The Healers\, Known to Be Left\, Stag’s Leap\, Material Ode\, Poem for the Breasts\, Tiny Siren\, On Reading a Newspaper for the First Time as an Adult\, Years Later\, and What Left? \nThe following poems from Tony Hoagland’s collection Application for Release from the Dream will be discussed: Ode to the Republic\, The Hero’s Journey\, Little Champion\, But the Men\, The Wetness\, The Neglected Art of Description\, White Writer\, Ship\, Because It Is Houston\, Update\, and Fetch. \nThe Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading featuring Tony Hoagland & Sharon Olds on April 18\, 2016 had to be cancelled due to storms and flooding in Houston.
