Ayad Akhtar will read from his new novel The Radiance, followed by an on-stage conversation led by a local author/journalist. The evening will conclude with a book sale and signing. The event is presented as part of the 2026/2027 Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series.
Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar’s new novel The Radiance is “simply put, a work of genius. Akhtar’s work as a novelist and playwright has been published and performed in over two dozen languages. He is the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play Disgraced, which was also nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play. His other Broadway plays include McNeal, Junk, and The Who & The What. Akhtar is also the author of the novels American Dervish, a Kirkus Reviews Best Book of the Year, and Homeland Elegies, called “a tour de force” by The Washington Post. In 2021, he was named the New York State Author by the New York State Writers Institute, succeeding Colson Whitehead.
