DESCRIPTION:This is an in-person workshop that takes place at Inprint House. \nTHIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CANCELLED. \nWriting Intensive for Health Professionals: Reconnecting with Your Writing \nAn understanding of people’s stories\, an empathetic mindset\, strong observational skills\, and a dedication to the task at hand are not only key within the healthcare system\, but capabilities essential to the practice of writing creatively. In the healthcare setting\, it can often be difficult to find that quiet and focused time to dedicate to one’s artistic practices\, and to uphold the discipline required to make significant progress on a literary project. \nThis class is designed to give healthcare providers extended and unadulterated time to reconnect with their writing and refocus on their writing goals. Over the course of Saturday and Sunday afternoons\, we will read and respond to published creative works\, analyze relevant craft essays and utilize their proposed strategies. We will write to tailored writing prompts\, discuss the process of finding publishing opportunities\, and implement long-lasting strategies to cultivate a literary community within healthcare. \n
