Inprint is proud to serve as the host for the First Fridays Reading Series. The First Fridays Reading Series is the oldest poetry series in Houston and was organized by Robert Clark from 1975-2019. Today, First Fridays events are curated and hosted by local community members.

The September featured reader will be John Milkereit. John lives in Houston, Texas working as a mechanical engineer. His poetry journey did not begin well after being forced to read “Beowulf” in 6th grade. Several decades later, he found himself enjoying a poetry seminar at his local church on the poetry of Billy Collins, and then he took his first poetry class at Inprint in 2005. Later, he went on to complete an MFA in Creative Writing at the Rainier Writing Workshop. His poems have since appeared in various literary journals such as The Comstock Review, San Pedro River Review, and Naugatuck River Review. In December, Kelsay Books released his fifth collection of poems entitled, The Beginning of Undoing.
