Inprint is proud to serve as a host for the First Friday Poetry Reading Series. The First Friday Series is the oldest poetry series in Houston and has been held monthly on the first Friday of each month since 1975. The series is coordinated and curated by Robert Clark. Each reading begins with a featured poet, followed by an open mic. On December 6, 2019, First Friday presents Carrie Kornacki.

Carrie Kornacki is a teacher, poet, and children’s writer with a B.S. in Journalist from Ohio University, who has taught English and Reading in Ohio, English as a Second Language in Suzhou, China, as well as teaching at Westfield High School in Spring. She currently teaches English 4 at Wisdom High School in Houston. She has worked for Writers in the Schools. In 2016 and 2017, she was awarded the Lucille Johnson Clark Memorial Award, which is given to the Houston Poetry Fest’s top-rated K-12 classroom teacher. Kornacki has been featured at numerous Houston readings, and has been widely published.
