SUMMARY:Fiction Online - Jumpstarting Your Stories 2020-307
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nPlease note that this is an online workshop conducted via Zoom. Participants will be provided information on how to join the online sessions. \n\nThis beginning fiction course is designed for new writers and those with some experience. The theme of the class will be beginnings. In a friendly\, supportive environment\, we’ll talk at-length about the writing practice\, how it’s established and maintained. I’ll give short lectures on basic craft—plot\, character\, setting\, etc. Then we’ll read and discuss stories written by an array of international writers\, living and past\, such as Lucia Berlin\, Antonio di Benedetto and Sheila Heti. This class will introduce you to the writer’s workshop. As participants\, each class\, you’ll complete short writing prompts and respond to others’ work. By the end of our workshop\, you will have completed and workshopped at least one story. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
