DESCRIPTION:WRITING FROM THE INSIDE OUT – THE ART OF CONFLICT\nCharacters want things from each other\, often things that are impossible for them to get or for the other character to give. Characters\, like people\, want intimacy\, power\, revenge\, freedom—often\, desires that will never be resolved.  The pursuit of these impossible desires creates stories. In our first day of workshop\, we will study published stories to explore how authors reveal character and motivation through conflict\, and how these conflicts generate stories.  In the second day\, we will workshop scenes that we have created and brainstorm how these scenes can be expanded into full-length stories. \n
