Please sign up on the waiting list here and an Inprint staff member will contact you if a space opens and so you receive priority registration the next time this class is offered. \nThis six-week workshop will focus on the art of metafiction in prose. Each week\, we will read the prose of writers like Clarice Lispector\, Jorge Luis Borges\, Italo Calvino\, and César Aira as accompaniment to the work we create. Our writing will be influenced by our own interest\, the writers we read—ourselves included—and prompts based on the readings. We will write metafiction as a way of making sense and meaning out of the separation of the self inherent to the distinctions of author\, narrator\, and character. We will utilize all that is meaningful about writing—its form\, its content\, its expression\, its artifice\, the tangibility and spirituality of its creation\, its history\, its collectivity—in the content of our writing. \nWriters from all backgrounds and experiences are welcome; whether metafiction is your life’s passion\, or you’ve never once considered it or even heard of it\, we are all writers and therefore qualified to write metafiction. \n URL: LOCATION:Inprint House\, 1520 W Main St\, Houston\, TX\, 77006\, United States CATEGORIES:Writers Workshops ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg: END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
