DESCRIPTION:Please note that this is an online workshop conducted via Zoom. Participants will be provided information on how to join the online sessions. \nThis workshop is full\, please sign up on the waiting list here so you receive priority registration the next time this class is offered. \nDo you have a story\, or stories\, you have been longing to tell\, but are unsure about where to start\, or how? ‘Tell Your Stories Today’ is a generative\, no-stress workshop intended for writers hoping to carve out the time to tell their stories\, and to also learn and practice strategies for evocatively communicating their stories on the page. \nDesigned to inspire and kickstart essays-in-progress for novice and practicing writers alike\, over the course of this five-week online workshop\, we will read and examine a variety of creative nonfiction essays by established writers\, identify craft techniques used in each\, and attempt to emulate these strategies in our own writing. Participants can expect to try their hands at a variety of in-class exercises sparked by the essays we study and will be encouraged to continue to experiment with their writing between our weekly meetings. \nFrom our second through our final workshop meetings\, participants will have opportunities to share excerpts of their writing with the group and may also choose one piece to submit for written feedback from the instructor. Participants will leave our five weeks together with ideas for engaging with their everyday surroundings with an eye for storytelling. \n  \n
