Participants will be provided information on how to join the online sessions. \n\nNEXT LEVEL TINY: AN ADVANCED FLASH CREATIVE NONFICTION WORKSHOP \nThis workshop for individuals who have taken a previous Personal Essay\, Creative Nonfiction\, Flash Creative Nonfiction\, or related writing workshop with Inprint or elsewhere.  \nFor the first time\, Inprint is offering an advanced-level creative writing workshop specifically geared towards writers familiar with the sub-genre of Flash Nonfiction and Micro Memoir. In the span of four meetings\, one per week\, we will dive even deeper into the small but mighty form\, building on previously covered craft topics\, exploring specialized prompts\, and revising the pieces we’ve created in previous FNF courses. This specific course in FNF aims to help writers refine\, amplify\, deepen and interrogate the skills they already bring to the table\, while also covering common Creative Nonfiction concerns like pacing\, sensory description\, setting\, dialogue\, character and stakes. Looking at work by Joy Castro\, Brenda Miller\, Kiese Laymon\, Lia Purpura\, Xu Xi\, and Claudia Rankine\, we’ll expand our conception of all the micro-macro flash offers. Our discussions will include both in-class writing and revision prompts\, ensuring that\, no matter how busy your life is outside of Inprint\, you will be writing (and revising!) this month\, no matter what. This course is a great fit for those looking to expand and deepen their understanding of flash\, to jumpstart the revision process\, and to build an insightful and generous writing community. Previous FNF students are highly encouraged to attend\, though any prose or poetry-writer will quickly find their footing here – the material covered in this class will feel fresh and focused\, but the basic tenets of successful short-form prose are always reviewed. The course will include a discussion of the submission process\, literary journals\, cover letters\, and publication. Be prepared to find the world in a paragraph and yourself the author of it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n URL:https://inprinthouston.org/event/advanced-flash-creative-nonfiction-online-2020-302/ LOCATION:Unnamed Venue CATEGORIES:Writers Workshops ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://inprinthouston.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/typewriter.jpg END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
