DESCRIPTION:Please note that this is an online workshop conducted via Zoom. Participants will be provided information on how to join the online sessions. \nThis workshop is full\, please sign up on the waiting list here so you receive priority registration the next time this class is offered. \nThis workshop is designed to benefit those that have some writing experience\, either through a previous creative writing class\, their own writing\, through publication\, or in some other capacity.  \nThis workshop will look at innovative forms of fiction writing\, with special attention to more unconventional narratives as well as finding a character’s/narrator’s voice and playing with time and stream of consciousness. Over the course of eight weeks we’ll read a novel which we’ll examine and discuss each week\, as well as workshopping works-in-progress through in-class critiques and conversation. We’ll also discuss short stories and novels by both contemporary and established authors and see how our writing can be enhanced. This workshop will be an opportunity to take chances\, discover original and ingenious ways to both read and write fiction. Working and sharing of works-in-progress for guidance and feedback will be the primary focus of this class. Participants will be asked to read portions of the ‘class novel’ outside of the online meeting time and come to class having read assigned pages. \n
