In this poetry workshop, students will be given weekly writing assignments designed to sharpen their poetic skills and broaden their imaginative scope. In addition to workshopping poems, we will practice in-class writing and discuss works by Elizabeth Bishop, Geoffrey Nutter, Pablo Neruda, Mary Ruefle, Srikanth Reddy, Robert Hass, Russell Atkins, Frank O’Hara, and others. Please arrive with an open mind and a desire to experiment.
